I have been playing around with trying some more demanding bits - a tough piece of red oak with a 150 degree 32mm diameter v groove bit in a 6mm ER11 collett - which did GREAT when I tested it with MDF but this wood just proved too demanding and you can see where it went astray after the torque demand literally stopped the bit… I was trying 0.5mm stepdowns and even 0.2mm but when the bit was working at full depth it just could not keep up its speed.
Then tried a smaller 3/4" 120 degree v groove bit in a 1/4" ER11 collett, which had no problems using a 0.2mm step down…
Fun to see what can and can’t be handled by the A350!
