# 40W laser engraving skipping lines

I’m working with the 40W laser and I’m getting missing lines when I do the line movement mode engraving. It’ll skip lines occasionally.

All software is up to date and the laser lens is cleaned. Any suggestions?

Did you see this lines in your gcode preview as well?

No… the files used were jpeg and the preview looked normal.

If you repeat the job, is the skip on the same position again?  
May check the gcode preview again and share a picture?

Did you process the picture with Luban?- Latest version now is 4.13.  
Whats your firmware version of the 2.0?

Luban 4.13 and Snapmaker2\_V1.20.3\_20240716

I’ll need to try it again to see if it happens again.

Update: I caught it skipping lines this time and wriggled the cable connecting the laser to the power module and the laser came on and off. Looks like it’s a cable problem or a connection problem. Ordering a new cable and I’ll see if that fixes it.
